I have a Russian side-folder that I picked up from K-Var many years ago. AK007 RFS.
http://www.k-var.com/shop/product.php?productid=16694&cat=283&page=3 I noticed that there are two screw holes in the butt plate...I assume these are for a butt pad of some sort? I wouldn't mind adding a little length to the stock if I use it on my next build. Anyone know where I can find the butt pad that fits this folder? Thanks.

It doesn't use the screws, it has a strap to keep it from falling off

I have been making some that bolt to the existing holes in the stock. I have also been working on a thicker pad that add to the length of pull. If your interested send me your email address in a PM and I'll send some photos.

Hey all. I've been working on a butt pad for the side folder and I have one I'd like to share. I could make some for people. Please PM me if you're interested. It's not the prettiest thing, but it functions well. My gun does not lock the stock properly so I have to send it back to Firingline, but it still will lock with the pad attached. It mounts using the same holes that are already in the stock. I can include the hardware as well. Here are some photos...

You could very easily convert a ACE side folding stock butt pad to fit that stock. I have seen it done all you need is a drill and a set of bolts and nuts from Home Depot.
Very cheap option that looks professional. I have seen it done on that very folder. In fact you might not need to drill at all check out the Ace website and see how close there buttpad holes are to the holes on that side folder you have looks to be very close. Its an option you might want to look into. I have seen a two people at my local range who did the ACE butt pad to russian side folding stock. |
