I just picked one up yesterday. Nice bore and most all the parts were pretty clean. I'm going to shoot it this weekend so the jury is still out.

Well, it shot well for the first 20 rounds. Then it stove piped or did not extract at all. I stripped it clean this evening and will shoot it tomorrow or wednesday. I'll report back. I do like the gun, I hope it all works out..........

It's going back! The gas valve is leaking so the bolt isn't going far enough back to totaly eject the used casing. My guess is that the were shooting corossive ammo and did not clean things up so well. I'll pony up the extra $$$ for an unissued rifle. To fix the gas valve is a $20 part but screw it. I feel like the gun has some bad carma issues too.

I don't know how it is in other states but here in Nevada all the Big5 Yugo SKSs have the "California legal" muzzle brakes
 I have asked the manager to check if they can get an original gun from their warehouse but he said they all have that. My thinking is that Big5 is just ordering all of them in this configuration so as not to risk sending a grenade launcher to the "Golden" state by accident. There is NO way I would have one of those abortions in my safe! |

Get a C&R FFL and buy one direct from the distributor. I paid $103 for a shooter grade Yugo in very nice condition delivered to my doorstep. How much is big 5 getting?
