I got my first AK a week ago and I must admit, the only thing I really miss about my AR is the rear sight.

I have good vision, but the rear sight is really hard to focus past.  My eye struggles to keep focused on the front sight.

Is there an upgrade to the stock rear sight?  Would a peep sight give me the same problems?

Mojo is another good choice.
Admittedly may not be as good as Krebs as it's not (easily) elevation adjustable.

I think another good upgrade is a finer front sight post. The standard is 0.07", but 0.05" is more useful with a "peep" sight. Of course this upgrade is not possible with the stock pistol-type rear sight.

some people have found that taking a dremel tool with a small disc and openiing up the rear sight notch just a little helps quite a bit.as you know the ak (7.62x39 ) is mostly a short range weapon or lets say it is much better siuted for that purpose.

Getting a "National Match" front sight post is another good idea.

Might be just easiest to get a standard sight post and thin it with a dremmel tool to about 0.05"

I like my Krebs adjustable rear sight. I find I don't string rounds up/down like I used to when shooting paper.
