Anyone have opinions about Barnaul ammo? I think it has a laquered case like Wolf, which some people feel causes problems for their gun?
Any better than other Russian ammo?

The Barnaul 60 gr FMJ runs perfectly in my gun and is appreciably more accurate and faster than Wolf.

I'm no balliastics guru but, as far as I've been able to determine, that business of the laquer coming off is a bunch of poo-poo ka-ka. Just for grins, I tried melting some off with a propane torch (unloaded round). Wouldn't budge.

Luck,

SD

Barnaul shoots real well for me. Been shooting it off and on for a couple years and have no complaints.

NOT saying all other Russian is crap, but Barnaul is my favorite in 5.45fmj, 9x18hp, 7.62x39sp.

I love the stuff. IMHO, some of the best 7.62x39 I've ever shot.

Best I have shot in 7.62 X 39, and marginally better than Wolf in 5.45.
