That's really funny coming from you. But I can admit when I'm wrong and I obviously am in this case. So in that regard to this instance I apologize.

Considering we've never met, perhaps it's best not to speak as though we have.

Back on track--pic thread (possibly posted before in this thread, sorry if it has been, but don't really care--it's a pic thread, this is a pic of one of my builds passing inspection by one of the judges):

outstanding!  the wood looks a little too nice for a BFPU though.

Thanks,
Haha I know, it's actually a brand new Russian wood set from a Maadi kit... The original wood was all beat up and carved into (very cool) but it was cracked and falling apart. So I threw the Russian set on instead, it's got a nice original golden color to it and I like it. I didn't refinish it at all.

Well now that I've finished my milled Yugo (^above^) I have my next project in the works.
SBR AMD 65 - I'm missing 1 vital part, but I can't put my finger on what it is.

Started out as a Romanian AKM kit, I built it on a NDS1 and refinished it in black gloss and refurbished the wood to give it the Russian red color.
I'm really happy with how it turned out.

ETA-More pieces of the puzzle arrived.

For now, I'm using an M70 barrel, milled Bulgarian barrel components, milled Bulgarian underfolder stock, Polish bolt carrier, Romanian bolt, and an unknown virgin trunnion. I may use one the my AKM barrels, although I have my heart set on the hybrid build.

Depending on how much work I want to avoid, I may just use a Polish stock/trunnion and a Polish flat. I like the looks of the Bulgarian angle, but like the looks of the stamped Polish stock.

Slowly coming along.

Centerfire Yugo take-offs...the barrel pin slots were much lower than the trunnion hole, so I filled them with a tig. Also had the welder tig the handguard retainer.

Bulgarian rear sight block from Apex, Maadi cleaning rod, and Bulgarian milled gb and fsb from the EE. Nothing is pinned yet. Once I headspace it to my trunnion, I'll make whatever adjustments necessary.

Finally done.  Thanks to BYork_Infantry for his tools and patience.

So, I have an AK74 Bulgarian parts kit.  An AK Builder chrome lined barrel.  It's held together with AK builder rivets.  I installed a Tapco G2 trigger and Kerbs trigger pin retainer.  I need a pistol grip to be 922R complaint.  I'm waiting for magpuls pistol grip.  I want to keep my rifle classic looking, so the magpul might look out of place.

I just finished it this morning. A Romanian G kit that I had originally built as a screw build back in '07, rebuilt it on an NDS-1P receiver with a Polish underfolder. This build made me realize a few things: A - It's not as easy as it looks, and B - I suck at riveting. I used the AK Builder trunnion hole drilling fixture, definitely worth the money, the last time I did this I screwed up the trunnion holes on the receiver. I tried to make my own bolt cutter rivet tool and failed miserably so I got the Toth Tool bolt cutter rivet crusher jaws, again worth the money. The bolt cutters wouldn't reach the bottom rivet on the rear trunnion, so I tried going in through the grip hole and ended up bending the receiver, luckily I got it straightened out, you can still see where it's pinched a little.

One in 5.56 and one in 5.45. Just 6 coats amber shellac on bare mismatched bulgarian wood brings them all to match. No stain.

It was easy to put a finish on the bare receiver.

It sucked trying not to scratch it while building.

3 hours of abrasive cloth with lots of fitting and attempts to press on.

Of course it figures I now need a 14x1lh die to chase the muzzle threads. A few got boogered with all the on/off testing.

Rust blued AK Builder flat, M70 barrel, Bulgarian front sight block, rear sight block, handguard retainer, gas block, and top cover, Polish uf, carrier, and pistol grip, Romanian bolt, front trunnion and selector. US piston, trigger, and muzzle brake.

The under folder was beat up, and I bfpu'ed everything else to match. Biggest boner move I made on this one was on the last gas block pin. I inadvertently grabbed an underfolder pin and drove it in. I called it 100%. then flipped it around to see the other side. There was about a quarter inch of pin sticking out the other side. I just cut it off.

Tried my hand at selector notches last night.

Meh, next time, I'll use a smaller diameter cuttoff wheel, since these look a little too long.

A project that's been on the back burner for some time now...

Not sure if I want to cut it at 16" (as photchopped), or use the flash hider to get to 16". If I go that route, the front sight will be stacked right on the gas block, a look I do not dig.

Just finished my first build. Kind of took the easy way, with an AK builder kit that already had the barrel populated and installed and an NDS receiver that already had all the holes drilled.

Have to throw out a pic of my helper. He did a great job keeping the cats from getting into stuff!

Nice build.....but.

Your selector stop is installed up-side-down.
The small spacer between the trigger guard and the reciiver.  The stop is suppose to be facing up.

Just trying to help a brother out.

Yeah I noticed that not long after. It's fixed!

I also buggered up the long rivet in the rear trunnion trying to do it by hand and wound up using screws. One day I'll have a press and I'll spring for a rivet jig to fix it. Maybe.

Got a few hundred rounds through it now, it runs 100%. Here it is after a couple coats of aluma-hyde.
