Arsenal's new SAM7R-61 vs SLR-101S?

Are both Receivers made in Bulgaria? Or is the SAM7R only forged there then cncd over in the US?
I browsed the other threads and didn't see this info. Thanks.

Hoping to spring for one, but want the one that has a better resale value down the road.

It seems that only the SLR-101 receiver is Bulgarian. The SAM7R is American made.
I also heard from my FFL that the 101 is no longer being imported. I went to Arsena's website and it does not have an MSRP listed for the 101 anymore.

IMHO I'd get an 101 if you cand find one.

That new Sam7 looks like a really nice rifle, i'd take one for $979.00, possibly even $1079.00, but not happening at $1279.00, i'll wait it out and find something else cheaper.

This is the case. I have the original Shotgun News where they test the 1st batch of SAM rifles, & this is what was stated.  GARY

Damn, you got me all excited, then I saw that by "slight increase" you meant "about 40%."

They are literally the same gun. Identical. I verified through KVAR, Arsenal, and through looking at the pictures online, the SAM7-R61 has import markings on it's receiver identical to the SLR. The SA-M7 is an entirely different model, as you will note, on KVAR's site.

This is correct.  The new SAM7R-61 has no relation to the older SA-M7, other than a similar name.  K-Var/Arsenal just decided to rename the SLR-101 as the SAM7R-61.  I have no idea why they did this, as it's confusing.

But yeah, the SAM7R-61 is the exact same rifle as the SLR-101.  The only difference is the name.

Exactly. I ordered one, and they are on a 2-week backlog, but the rifle is "real" and not "vaporware", I was assured, as I added it to cart, etc.

I have already bought a Phantom hider for it, 5 mags (Bulgarian 30rd waffle black plastic, are those ok? I am noob to AK), a Jim Fuller rear sight (Yes, I chose the "pretty boy" option vs. filing myself, so sue me. Do I need that tool to replace it, or can I use my non-pretty boy hands and get it done?), and and lusting hard for a black US Palm Battlegrip and a Battlecomp or Manta brake.

Saw a SAM7R today at local fun store and they wanted $1,329.99 for it--which really isn't a huge mark up compared to everything else.  Receiver marked Made in Bulgaria.
