I was at the LGS who has some mags in a box up on a shelf marked "AK .223 mags". I asked about them and they were all marked Arsenal.  Would these function in my run of the mill saiga .223?

those sound like arsenal slr106 mags. Great magazines, by the way.

You need a bullet guide for them to function. You also need to mill a little bit off the trunnion or the top of the mag in front of the feed lip in order to get them to lock in. They're great mags though, definitely worth the effort over any mags you can get that work in stock Saigas.

I don't know, but I think it did.  they were behind the counter, and I knew I wouldn't be buying, so I didn't examine them closely.

The reason I ask is because a lot of retailers call the Circle 10 mags Arsenal mags, but the mags themselves do not say Arsenal on them and some people mistake Promags for them since they look similar to the untrained eye.
So just look to make sure it has that Circle 10 mark on it. On 5.56 mags you will find the Circle 10 marking on the top of the right side of the mag and the caliber marking on the top of the left side of the mag.
