Are all of the trunions for the Draco's surplus?  My Draco-C has a 1968 prefix for the serial number so I assume that is a surplus trunion made in 1968.  But I've seen pics of other Draco trunions with a non-year prefixed serial number.  Are those new manufacture trunions by Cugir?

And what about the balance of the Draco-C parts.  All my main compnents have matching serial numbers.  Are these new parts, or surplus parts that had the old numbers ground off and renumbered to match?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Those w/o markings on the trunnions do have all new parts. The "C" version didn't appear until recently, AFAIK.

The above Draco is not a "C" & up until this year is what Century was importing. All new parts. Some people believe the new guns the Romanian's are sending us are made from new parts that are rejects & not used to make military rifles in Romania. I don't know if this is true or not, just what I've read on the internet. The Draco "C" which started to appear this year is made from demilled Romy military rifles. If the trunnion is marked 1968, & all the parts have the same ser#, the whole gun except the semi receiver was from a 1968 military rifle. So which gun would have better parts? A non "C" with new rejected parts, or a "C" made from a 40 year old military rifle?  GARY  N4KVE

Hmmmm..... so my Draco-C is a recycle.  I don't mind that.  After some initial problems with FTF and FTE with zinc coated ammo, I tried some different ammo (lacquer coated and some Golden Bear) and different magazines and it loosened up.   Last time out, I was blasting full mags without any problems.  Even the zinc stuff started working better.

But... I do not like my surplus lower laminated lower handguard and red plastic pistol grip.  I see where most of the new-production Draco's (pre- C's) apparently came with non-laminated blonde furniture and black polymer grips.  I'll be putting a Hogue AK grip on mine, but does anyone know where I can get some reasonably-priced replacement blonde wood furniture to replace the laminated handguard?

I'll trade you my laminated lower grip for your blonde lower grip.

thats okay, if I wanted to I could of swapped it with a wasr I have. Its taken a while to get it the color I want, and a ton of tung oil. Its fine. I have accepted it. Some reason I do get alot of dings on the underside hand grip area for some reason, cant figure how I did it. I guess this wood must be softer too.
