Just getting ready for my new RPD to come in tomorrow and loaded up a few belts. About half way through i thought i remebered someone saying they were having issues with running hollow points through the RPD. Unfortunatly for me i just grabbed a few boxes of wolf off the shelf and started loading not carring if they were FMJ or HP, so ive got a mix on the belts.

Does anyone know if the RPDs can run HP bullets or should i just go ahead and unload them from the belt right now?

Thanks
Pat

My RPD eats even the shitty stuff that doesn't work well in regular AK's.

HP, not sure, but...softpoints work pretty well to a degree if that will tell you anything, so long as everything runs smoothly when charging etc...  And as always, pics or it didn't happen.

Got the Gun in last thursday but unfortunatly got the dreaded Swine Flu over the weekend and today is my first day being able to do more than stumble from the couch to the kitchen, and from the kitchen to the bathroom. Ill get pics up soon and hopefully get it out running this weekend.

Pat,

Can you post some pics. My RPD is still with Stan and Jorge. I thought I would of had it by now.

Here is my barred receiver at projectguns. It is being delivered without the Bipod and an M249 Hanger.

I just found out my RPD was shipped without the M249 hanger. I am pissed. I got 8 M249 pouches loaded and waiting to be emptied. I am going to put the RPD in the safe and hope my missing M249 hanger makes it in soon. I hate having an incomplete rifle!

I had problems with Early Russian Hollowpoints in factory AKs and SKSs, so I linked it all up and burned it through my full-auto RPDs.  They are the only guns I didn't have any trouble with the older Russian HP.

Got a pic of the 249 hanger? Will a 50 rd belt fit in a 100 rd 249 soft-pouch?

Don't shoot the RPD as much anymore, 'cause the PKMs are more fun, and cheaper to shoot, so if anyone is qualified to buy a posty, I have some for sale.

I am waiting for my M249 Hanger to be shipped to me by Projectguns. I will post pictures when I get it. The following is one 50 round RPD belt in a M249 Nutsack.

I like it!    Be nice to find some starter tabs to put on the second half of the belt.    I've been working on one for the PKM - that doesn't cost $250 like the blackheart.

75 rounds will fit in the 100rd "nutsack" M249 pouch. I am toying with the idea of modifying my belts to 75 rounds as I am pretty sure I am going to just use the M249 pouch, much more elegant than that "soup can" BS that the RPD normally has.
