I know about how you got to empty the magazine, switch the gas thing, and then use a blank, but I have a few other questions.

Is the blank a special type of blank, or would most blanks work fine? How hard is it to find 7.62x39 blanks?

Also would the launcher work okay for plain old hollowed out dummy grenades.

I dont yet have any plans to try this out, was just curious.

I've been wondering the same thing especially since I'm taking delivery of my new yugo today.

You will need either a rifle grenade or a hand grenade in a rifle adapter.  The adapters are fairly easy to find and I suspect a dummy would work fine.  The NATO RGs fit over the launcher but won't hang on like they should.

Never fired a grenade off the thing, but I do know that the Yugo grenade launching blanks were hotter than standard practice blanks.  I imagine it'll go somewhere one way or the other though.

There was a post on this site ( I think) a while ago that had a link for a place selling the grenade adaptors for $3 or so. They also showed how to use zip ties to attach a tennis ball, to protect the adaptor when landing. Also, I heard that makarov.com used to sell 7.62x39 blanks $3 for 20. Dont know if they still do.
