Hey guys just thought I would run this by you... I have been talking with  Kouznetsov Andrei (owner of the AKstore on ebay, located in Russia) since I placed an order for a AK-74M receiver top cover. I asked if they could get a complete AK-74M parts kit minus receiver (of course...lol...). I was told "I can get them, the kit will be complete minus the barrel, FCG and receiver" I then asked what it would cost me for a complete parts set or if there would be any discount for a group buy. Here is the e-mail I got from Kouznetsov.

"If you'll arrange a group buy for at least 10 sets, the price will be
$350 ea. shipped and insured (delivery to one recipient - to you). Once received
them, you'll redirect each by yourself. The direct delivery to each of
receipients will costs a little more (+ $15 ea.)

Please note, the shown set was an AK-105 one. The AK-74M will looks
alike.

LMK.

P.S. Just for referrence, such sets offering on my eBay auctions for
$487 shipped and insured (you can check my eBay auctions).
I'm selling at least 3-4 sets each month for such price.
Just to let you know, that $350 shipped is a very good deal."

Well what do you guys think? Here is the pic of a kit... O'ya, they also have one Russian Krink kit avail

Does the absence of the barrel allow them to be imported without a Form 6?

I would really be interested in getting one of the folding buttstocks at a group buy price.

Maybe we can make that happen.... I am hearing of possible import problems with a big box full of parts... I had no idea it was that complicated.

KF,

I think you need to add in an extra $100 to do the folding stock to the build cost.

I might be interest if the barrel came with it.   I can live w/o the fcg, which will be replaced anyways.

No barrel, means no gas block, means no punch welded GB and FSB.

I e-mailed Kouznetsov and let them know about the concerns of "no barrels" which I dont think they can do anything about... Russia does not allow them to be exported correct? anyway I asked about a group buy on 10 or more AK-74M stock sets, complete with all hardware and trunion. I will update soon as I here something. Is there any other Russian goodies that anyone would be interested in?

Those seem to be included without a stipped barrel from the pic.

Why can Romania, Poland ,and Bulgaria import with barrels and not Russia?

That doesn't make any sense.

That's a 105 not a ak-74m

Plus if they are punched welded on, they are of no use.

These parts are taken from an MMG (dewatt), which is legal in Russia and legal to export with out paperwork.

There is no usable parts on them except for the stock set, top cover, recoil spring, and the barrel parts. Everything else is demilled in some shape or form. The modern Ak-100 series ones are purpose built dummy guns with dummy barrels, and sometimes even have a solid dummy gas chamber. The front trunnion is toast.

Good luck getting so many into the US. One will make it, any more the ATF/Customs will grab it and wait for a form 6. I know, as I have done it. Sent a couple cut up ones to friends with no problem (customs even opened), but when I tried 4, it was a no-go. Stock sets, stuff like that is no problem, but actual hard gun parts are.

Getting a good Russian AK-105 "parts kit" legally is impossible. They are not free sale items in Russia (or anywhere else), and they are not allowed to send them to the US because of the arms agreement.

So a group buy on just the stocksets wouldn't raise any eyebrows?

I dont see why it could not... only thing is we will be trusting Kouznetsov with at least $1500 for 10 buttstock kits. I just bought one from TanTal a few days ao before I knew about Kouznetsovo so I dont need one but I would be more than happy to get this thing going or if someone else want to handle it thats fine as well, I will put you in contact with him. Kouznetsov says approx 1 month from him to us, from what I here a couple months is more realistic. It's up to you guys...

I will go ahead and move this over to the group buy forum tonight when I get home. When we get 10 people we can contact the mods and get it approved. Maybe Campy can put a word in for us...

O'ya, Kouznetsov also said if we can get a bigger group (20) there would be another $ cut... maybe $10 or so...

Just a thought.... I ordered a AK-74M receiver top cover from him for $35 shipped. If anyone is building a AK-74M clone and want the smooth non-ribbed cover maybe we can get him to cut a deal on those as well

I'd go for the complete folding stock assembly for $150.  Depending on the discount, possibly the top cover too.

You better jump on that as he had limited amounts and may have sold them all as I have been posting his link for weeks when people ask.   You could probably go pick one up from him if he still has them.

The obvious solutions is to break up the kits and send them in groupings.

Send all stocks as one shipment

Send all trunions as another.

That still brings problems, as well as increased shipping costs. Shipping from Russia is not $10 via USPS priority mail. Its expensive Air freight. Second, the ATF/Customs does record shipments. You think they are not going to notice?
