"Go to the AK community of ythe site and ask CAMPY and the "commie" guys over there if they have someone who can make them."  EdSr.  (Ed was responding to inquiries made about having an AR15.com AK)www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=122&t=211453
-----------------------------------------------

Bob (all), I've copied Ed's statement from the SEBR/SER Forum and the only AK post currently in that forum.  Seems to open the possibilities for a group buy - if any of you guys are still interested ??

(Bob, I tried to email this directly to you to make sure you wanted this posted but my emails bounced.   Tom Boothe)

If any Staff or Mods feel this is an inappropriate post, please eliminate the posting.

Snce the last talk of an AK group buy, I have added two to my collection.

I doubt I would be in for another, unless it is a real sweet deal.

Last time we tried the 5.45 kits got real cheap and buried the known good smiths in work. BUt there is no harm in trying again.

There seems to me, to be two generic ways to go:  1) is to find something relatively inexpensive but a good value and 2)  go to a top end shop like Krebs and see what they could do.

You folks know far better than I which way would be the best.  I'm likely 'IN' whatever way is decided.  That is if there is any interest remaining.

Go Blue!

Honestly, There's only one game I want them to win.

I don't think I can take another year listening to OSU fans if they win.

I might have to move back to Detroit.

When I bought my first SAR1 this past week I decided that I would probably want one more at some point to give a different look.  I really like the ones with the black furniture, muzzle brakes, and optics. The first one will always have the traditional AK look, so I guess I better get in on a group buy if one becomes available. I gotta figure a group buy for an AK has to be a great deal. I'm interested.

On second thought, right now might not be the best time for me because of the holiday season. My wife is jerking on my leash in an attempt to get me to stop buying stuff so we can actually have money for kids and family for Christmas. Like they really need anything! Pfft!!!

But seriously, if anyone should put together a group buy, they should do it around February/March for tax return time. I've got money comming my way and I'd rather spend it on completing my AR15 build or on another AK.

Hey your underestimating the joy your wife would get out of unwrapping a new rifle for christmas, and imagine the feeling when watching the younguns wake up to find new waffles in the stockings.

yeah, you better not, I cant either right now, but no one said right this minute either.

Gimme a month o two to make some cash and I would probably join in.

Anything but .223 for me too.  I love cheap mags!

(maybe someone can make a group of arfcom RPKs!)

I vote for a repro of a classic russian variant.
1. AKM laminated furniture and slant brake
2. Type 3 AK-47 laminated furniture and muzzle nut
3. AKS-74 laminated handgaurd, triangle folder, and 74 muzzle break

these are in no particular order, just what i would be interested in buying.  another option i'm sure i will get flamed for is a dedicated .22lr version.

We should make it the official AK47net sworn enemy limited edition AK.

It should be built by Troy@INRANGE, and contain as many parts from Kvar as is possible, come with a photo of Miss RSA, and be called something like "Kvar Karbine, Kampy Karbine, Krinkfreak Karbine.....etc

I would be in on a group buy provided the price is right.

A matter of fact I would go for a discount on a Veper K, SAM-7S or Krebs on a group purchase.

I'm thinking 5.45 krink or early type 74 variant.  Built by Troy.  Or what about a group buy from Chris at Ak-USA?

As some of you know, we're currently running a deal on the AR15.com SEBR ArmaLite AR-10 over in the SEBR/SER Forum.  (The link above is to the AK topic in that forum.)

Obviously there's a bunch of guys over there have bought AR-10's.  What we're also seeing in that AK topic is guys/gals that have never owned an AK expressing some interest in an AR15.com SER AK.  Be nice to get some details (especially caliber) re this project while we have a pretty good sized audience in that forum.

I would be 'real' interested.  Eespecially if it had a nice wood laminate, muzzle brake, etc.  Price is a factor as always.

Lets keep these like more traditional AK's and not go the tactical route.  My opinion you want tactical buy a nice ar15-m4 clone.

Let me know

I've picked up 4 since we last looked into this. I'd be interested, though, if we wait and get some with evil features.
