I was looking through my pictures, and noticed all my action shots are with my ARs.  I have four of each, so its not like I only have one lonely AK.  Anyways, I need to take my camera out next time and get some good AK shots.

I'm behind the camera on this one:

The rifle is my Armory USA SSR85C-2

Let's make it YOUR rifles, and not military photos.

Me with the Krebs KTR-03S (brass flying), only thing I added was an ace sling mount, an ace stock and a specter gear sling.

Man, regular AK stocks are a beezatch to take off!

Good thing that isn't an HK.... brass would be laying in the front seat along with the pieces of window. (Don't ask how I know this )

Sweet!

I like seeing these true "action" shots!  After I shot my departmental rifle qualification course last month with my Bushmaster, I asked if I could shoot it again with my Polish Underfolder.  They weren't busy at the moment, and my range officer told me to go ahead (not for a score.)  It was a lot of fun shooting from cover, reloading, and shooting on the move with the AK.  All my action shooting to date has been with an AR-15.  I have to admit to fumbling with the reload.

Hopefully next week at the next rifle qual I will be able to shoot my AK again.

Used my SLR101 for half of tactical response tactical rifle after my AR took a shit on day 1 (my fault for changing the parts without time to test, it now works fine).  I don't think there were any pictures though.  Everyone else was using AR's.  Let me say, you could tell who was shooting by how hard the resetting steel plates were falling.

Pop-ting versus clack-gooooonnnngggg.

The AK do just fine. It ain't the gun so much as it is the shooter.

We see more and more AK's in classes and we are putting a block in our Fighting Rifle class for the AK drivers to help them run their rifles efficiently and hang with the AR guys.

Great that you added an AK section.  I was able to hang with the AR shooters just fine using my AK back when it was a totally AR centric course.  Then again i'm also a lefty, so things like operating the safety and the charging handle didn't require the forethought it takes for some right handed people.

I was supprised however that no one asked to swap for a few drills.  It is wise to study the ways of ones enemy.

Well as far as being left handed, yeah its an advantage when it comes to the AK, i should know, im a southpaw Kalashnikov guy myself.  But if anyone else has checked out the DVD AK-47/74 In CQB "Beyond the Firearm" done by Ex Spetsnaz Saulius "Sonny" Puzikas, you would see his methods for speeding things up for right handers, he never removes his hand from the pistol grip, to charge the rifle he reaches underneath the trigger guard with his left hand and operates the charging handle with his pointer finger, and hes damn quick about it too. His handleing of the weapon is smooth and flowing, free of tension but very quick and always on target.  He discusses principals of aiming with the body, as well as firing drills and positions, most things us westerners would never have thought of.  Seriously its worth the 24 bucks if you are really interested in learning your weapon.  He even discusses hand to hand with it.

No, it's a RRA 6 position with an adapter.

I am going to remove it and install an ACE skeleton stock. I wanted a short stock for CQB but this stock is up too high to use the irons.

Sorry it took so long to answer.

Actually the price i quoted u on the video is from another site, that was just the one that had the trailer.  Im sure you are all familiar with www.redsoldier.com, they have the DVD for 24 bucks....ITS TOTALY WORTH EVERY CENT.  You will get so much out of this video no matter what shooting hand you prefer, and the good news is that most of the principals dictated in the video apply to pretty much any assault rifle.  There are sevral tricks tho pertaining to the Kalashnikov exclusively though...turning the rifle sideways in prone for instance, so that the charging handle is facing up, this allows you to lower your prone sillohuette even further than normal, and you can use the charging handle as your aiming device.  Plus a million more in hand to hand.

It might be 50yds to the edge of the berm, its where the Northern Illinois crew gathers for shoots. My personal range at home goes to at least 500yds.

Actually that VEPR is another IL arfcommers, that was before I got one for myself.

I always lose my good ranges come spring!

Took my Vepr out to 500, holes where mighty damn scattered out there, but I know I hit it!
