After years of being on the receiving end of an AK, I decided to buy one at a local gun show and ended up with a CAI AK74. I realize that the CAI series isn't the best out there, but I bought the rifle with the intention of adding rails and a folding stock, so I didn't want to spend too much.

My question concerns the ACE internal block and the CAI AK74. First of all, do they work together and secondly, judging from the info here all I need to do is cut off the tang with a dremel and insert the ACE internal block, correct?

Thanks for any help and I'll post pics as soon as I can.

you can  avoid cutting the tang by adding a romy wire folder they lock up tight and look nice. look at my pics of my romy wasr 10 and romy g with the wire folder I am sure one of these will work on your 74 also if you wish then you can always switch between fixed stock or folder not permanent . yes the block can work with your gun but you will have to cut on it to make it work not what I would want to do but may the look you want for it will be worth it good luck either way and post pics of what you do to it.

Sorry for the late response!

Thanks for the info. I am pretty set on adding an ACE stock to my AK, but that is a ways down the road so we'll see.

Thanks again.
