Help

Trying to see if legal to ship a Poly tech Legend to California??
Being told that if Preban and marked AK-47/S.
Legal to ship to FFL in CA and he will install a bullet button to make legal.

Is this correct??

Thanks

Probably be better to ask in the California "Hometown" forum.

There are no AK47s, and there have not been since they stopped making them in  1961.

So lets not help the anti-gun folk by not calling your garden tool a spade.

AK-47/S was the model name used on a lot of imported Chinese AKs back in the 1980's.  Whether they are allowed in some states with strict gun laws can depend on whether or not they have that model name on the side of them.

I know Chinese AK's are supposed to be good.

I just cant get over those "made in China" stamps.

Makes the gun seem like a cheap pile of shit.

Chicom rifles are some of the nicest AKM's ever produced. The trigger on them is incredible compared to any other factory AKM trigger. They are blued instead of using glue based paints which adds to the aesthetics in my opinion. They also tend to hold value better than any other AKM on the market. If you get one try and pick up a straight cut receiver vs the slant cut.

The Polytech Legend, or any Chinese rifle marked AK47S, 56, 56S, MAK90 etc., are banned by name in Commiefornia. Here is the CA DOJ sight that lists those rifle that were banned in 2000. Specifically. see page 58 for a detailed list of banned rifles.

I am fortunate enough to own both a Polytech Spiker and a converted milled MAK90. The only other AK's that I own that are comparable are my Valmets. Truly, the only people that downplay them are those that have never handled or owned one.
