OK...., it can't be that hard!!!!
Anybody know of a "How To" link for correctly installing a AKS-74 stock on my SAR-2?
It can't be more than a little cutting here & a little drilling & riveting or screwing there!!
One of you fine backyard gunsmiths must have done one of these in your shop @ home!
If you really want to do it yourself (its a whole lot of work) someone will post a template. I've seen one before, but dont have a copy on my PC.
In short, you would have to drill out your old rivets, remove the old trunnion, cut the sides and bottom of the receiver (it angles slightly on the selector side, and the other side and bottom has to be cut more for the hinge), drill new holes for the third rivet, cut holes on each side of the receiver for the rear latch, and rivet it all back together. Next you'll need a cutout in the receiver for the front latch, and a hole on the bottom for the latch pin.
Here are a few pics of mine.
Thanks for the pics!!
I think I can handle the retrofit!!
A pattern would be nice though if anyone out there has one they could post.
