Any comments on the AGI videos on building AK's?

I've seen it... it was okay, but I thought the one from Roderus was better...

Sale until 10/5 - Roderus

It is worth the $30... IMO

How in depth does that video go?

I didn't like the AGI video very much. Seems like they used sloppy methods in some places- ie using the barrel as a bucking bar, etc. They also had a fair amount of tools/jigs that were specific to them only and are not on the market, although they give you plans for them on the DVD. Did me a fat lotta good since I'm not a machinist.

The ak-builder video was much better (the Ultimate AK builder or something like that). They used jigs that are on the market etc.

I don't know of any video out there that uses ghetto tools..... (ie Ibar barrel insertion, vise barrel pin removal, etc etc). Maybe there's a void that could be filled by someone....

Have you used the video to make an AK and if so, how did the info help you out?

I watched 2 videos before I built. When I actually built for the first time, I used a little from a lot of places- that is to say that I didn't do it exactly like the video, or HCpookie, or whoever. I planned out in my head which method I would be able to use for which step.

The video was good information, but once I viewed it I sold it. Don't want it back, either. I would definitely take the akbuilder dvd back though.

So you're saying that you would have kept the AK builder video?
