i'm thinking of picking up an M92 and building it into an SBR. a simple triangle folder and calling it done.

would i need to make sure to have "X" number of american parts on it? i mean, if i'm going to "manufacture" it myself, and i'm putting the name of my NFA Trust and such on it, it's now technically "made in America", right?

Yes, it must be 922r compliant.

It is unclear actually but I build for compliance.

American stock, muzzle device, Tapco trigger (3 parts) take you to within 1 part of 922r compliance. Throw on a Magpul or an American piston and you are done.

How mine looks with a Magpul: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_4_98/156947_My_M92_PAP_SBR_build_so_far.html

A US-made pistol grip counts as one part too.
