Ober and I have shot for groups together, used each in both Romy and Bulgy guns, will pay 10% more for Barnaul.

both wolf and barnaul run perfectly for me.

The only problem we had during any of the tests was with the very last round we fired. It was an RWS HP in my SAR-2. The HP jammed on feeding. All others were flawless.
I can not get into the archives to get the 5.45 data. I will see if someone can get to it and tack it in the Ak ammo forum. It should have been anyways. |

Im thinking wolf because they have the air pocket in the front of the bullet like the 7n6.

I wasn't sure about this myself. I was shooting 2 liter bottles last week with the wolf 60 grainers and they acting like FMJs; going right through. I couldn't tell i shot the bottles at 100 yards cuz they weren't even flipping over after getting hit. This pissed me off. Upon closer inspection i had hit them all several times and the water had leaked out. Try that with a Nosler Ballistic Tip out of an AR and the bottles literally blow up. Don't get me wrong, im not bashing the Wolf, I will continue to use it, but that was my observation. |

I havent compared FMJ wolf to barnaul but I did compare barnaul FMJ to HP. Shooting frozen 2 liter bottles the hp doesnt leave much of a mark and just deflects rather quickly. The FMJ throws a huge splash of ice chips everywhere. Also shooting liquid filled 2 liter bottles the HP pokes a hole straight through. The FMJ leaves a 1/2 to 3/4 keyhole out the back side.
The only commie round that works better than the 5.45 FMJ for blowing shit up is wolf softpoint. I dont think it opens but it hits like a metric tonne of bricks. Itll blow a frozen 2 liter bottle chunk of ice into 100,000 pieces in 1 shot. Its a lot of fun. |

Wolf makes a 154 grain Sp round. Not a bad round really.
Barnaul also has the hollow cavity in the front in 5.45mm. Sectioned, it is almost imposible to tell the difference between the rounds. |
