i use a cheap, aluminum hoppes .22 rod, plastic .22 jag and the smalle, thin linen .22 patches.

A .17 caliber kit would also work. I used it at first, but found that a quality .22 cal. kit works well.

I have not cleaned with a rod in years. I use an Otis kit with a variety of brushes and patch clips, and plastic coated cables to pull thru. Their thin cable fits just fine. About $40 well spent.
