pick one up on GunBroker. now it fits in a 7.62 gun but wont fit in a 223 .so tell me what this thing was made for.

Polytech .223's have the same size magwell as 7.62 rifles. Those drums are pretty pricey, get hit hard?

I honestly haven't a clue on retro-fitting it to something else. I know a 7.62 mag is a good bit larger then the magwell of the Norinco .223's, never messed with a SAR3 or the Weiger mags. Since a 5.45 mag fits both the Norinco and Rom. .223's I'd guess it might take some serious ingeniuty, but like I said, I really don't know.
Tell ya what though, if I had a Poly .223 I'd want one. The Norinco 40's are scarce enough as it is, a drum would be awesome! |

Prob a 100rnd 223 for a chicom model. JeepCreep knows these much better than I do.

Some company was making a mag well adapter for the 223 aks so they could take AR mags and drums. I forget who it was. I do know that Marc over at www.krebscustom.com has an AK with said adapter in it.
Maybe it's for a .223 galil? |

Here's a possibility for you: The current issue of "Smallarms Review" (highly recommend pub.) has a story on Ruger AC556s (full-auto Mini 14s), part of which discusses hi-cap mags for them. One item was a drum converted from an AK 75 rounder, as I recall. It's not impossible that you have one of these. Just an idea.... |
