It is a full auto, is transferable, and was in Red Dawn.

It was imported as a semi Egyption Maadi, and then converted to full auto before 1986, and then rented for Red Dawn, and looked like crap, and was just redone by Ted Marshall of AZ using a new-condition 1977 genuine Russian AKM parts set which was captured from the PLO by Israel (the importer of the parts sets sold 38 of the 40 sets and kept two for himself (the best two I would assume). I paid him extra to get one of his personal sets).

I paid $10,500 for it over two years ago and it came with an extra buttstock signed by Kalashnakov. It is worth around $20K now.

rsilvers,

The rifle is truly stunning and awe-inspiring and the story behind it is quite remarkable.

Moderators, this piece is so unique that I propose that this thread or a new one featuring this rifle and it's story be tacked. You don't see something like this every day.

rsilvers, would it be possible for you to provide some more extensive pictures and documentation for the benefit of the membership here?

Congrats on a truly rare Kalashnikov.

rsilvers- You lucky, lucky, lucky man. How are you going to post a pic with you and Mr. Kalashnakov on an AK site? Just wrong. How did you get to meet him in his apartment? Please tell! Also, Mr. Kalashnakov speaks only russian, right?

Thanks. I hope everyone joins. We just have 1200 members, and only about 400 people ever posted. The site was started in Spring of 2005.

I joined and post everyonce in a while. I like the videos you shoot. Some people will have to live vicariously thru others when it comes to guns.....especially class III.

I will get an AG4 mag, even though it was not likely pictured with one in Red Dawn (not to mention that the mags, while in production, were not so much in the field). Anyone know the best source?

Very sweet rifle; that pretty much represents the Holy Grail of AKs in the United States.  Just curious about the AK-74 recoil spring assembly, selector, and top cover.  Was there a reason you used these instead of AKM parts when having your Maadi rebuilt by Ted?
