I'm looking for a new shotgun for 3 gun. Currently running an 1100, when it choses to run, reliability issues have me looking for something else. Yes, it's kept clean etc. Anyhow recomendations lets have em.

I use a couple of Versa Max I really like them.

But the Benelli M2 seems to be the most popular.

If I had to start over I would go for a Browning A5

You could try slumming a bit and go with a Stoeger M3K.

Peruse the local used racks and see if you can find a Benelli M2 Field.  24 or 26 inch barrel preferably.

I have a race ready M2 with less $ in it than a new M2 costs.

M1 works great too if that is all you can find.

Stoegers can be great as well but the Benelli will be more reliable with lighter loads is the general consensus among those who have seen a great number of both.

Benelli M2 is the golden standard, but I really like my Beretta 1301, very reliable.

I love my super x3.  Part of me wishes it was a x2 for a little more weight but both will run anything I put in them from 2 3/4 to 3 1/2".  Ran the x3 for 950 rounds before cleaning it one year with my 1oz sporting clay loads.  the bolt got slow at about 900 but keep running.

the A5 auto loads a shell on to the lifter, no port loading, less counting. and they shoot pretty soft.

Autoload feature is very slick.

If you only need one more shot to finish a stage, a port load from a match saver is still faster.

The A5 is an awesome shotgun though.  I like my M2 but there are times the autoload would be nice.

You can find used M2s, CAREFULLY do your own port work, and add a tube, and have a race ready benelli for under 1k.
