why all the 6.5 and no 308's.. the 6.5 cm ammo is nill

The 6.5 Creedmoor does everything better than the 308 except for three things.
1. The 308 has plentiful ammo. 2. The 308 has better barrel life. 3. The 308 tends to be a better general hunting round about 400 yards due to heavier weight bullets, and a larger frontal area. |

I have had both, and like both. Got rid of the 6 5 and stuck with the 308, I guess I'm a traditionalist.

Not really. You still get more velocity from a shorter Creedmoor and with the bullet having a significantly higher BC you get better ballistics even if the velocity was the same. |

+1 for 308 if you need a shorter barrel. Otherwise 6.5 for the win.

I just bought one of the new Cross PRS rifles in 308. I decided that I wanted to be able to shoot this summer instead of waiting on the 6.5CM and then finding components, powder, and/or ammo. I will get a 6.5CM barrel when available either aftermarket or from Sig. I haven't had a chance to fire the new rifle yet. I'm hoping to get to the range in a few weeks (work, house projects).

I bought the 6.5 knowing I would also get a 308 barrel in time. Want a 308 barrel longer than the 16 inch offered. 6.5 hasn’t been that hard to find, but is not cheap.
