I use a Kreiger on my AR308 and I’m thinking of a match barrel for an AR15 build.  What are you guys using?  How does White Oak fit in?

Right now I’m using a rock creek 1/7.5 5r I cut myself, but the last 10 or so have been kriegers. You can’t go wrong with WO cut kriegers. I will say the most accurate AR I have has a Krieger 1/7 done by Keystone Accuracy with a CLE chamber.Keystone

I'm using a WOA 18" .223 Wylde SPR barrel.  Very nice barrel and accurate.  Sub MOA with most good ammo.  Still playing with loads to make it better.

I have two 6.5 Grendels.  One is a 18" LaRue that is very accurate and the other is a build with a 20" stainless Proof Research barrel.  Also very accurate.

I have an 18in Lothar-Walther. Wylde chamber, polygonal rifling. It is remarkable for under $400. I wish it was a 20”

Superior Barrels 20" SDM.  I believe their blanks were either compass lake or Douglas, its Army SDM profile with the 12 flutes running down to the gas block.  Been shooting prairie dogs with this barrel for well over a decade, one of my favorite guns.

WOA and Rock Creek 5R for .223.  RC is phenomenally accurate with factory 52gr Federal Varmint loads for Coyote (haven’t officially shot a series of groups, but when zeroing, it was easily pushing sub-MOA 5 shot groups with only a 6x PST G2 on top).

Criterion barrel on my 6.5G.  Still working on breaking it in a bit (not doing anything special, but heard CBI barrels tend to need a couple hundred rounds til they settle out), but it currently throws MOAish 5 shot groups with factory Hornady Black 123gr ELDs.

I have 3 JP and 2 stealths.

The 3 jps shoot amazing.  The 1 stealth (223 wylde) shoots well.  The stealth in 224V shoots ok, but not as well as my other precision stuff, but I blame the funkiness of the round more than the barrel.

Bartlien by CLE.

I do a benchrest spot check once a season. The last check was at 2,000 rounds. The single 5-shot group using 77smk pushed by 8208xbr measured 0.48moa

Hand lapped cut rifled barrels like your Krieger are always going to be the best, you really can't go wrong with any of the top quality options or gunsmiths. I personally really like Craddock Precision barrels and you can get the with cut rifled Bartleins or Rock Creeks. Keystones barrels are excellent, as are CLE's. I just got a Proof SS 223 Wylde SPR barrel that is an absolute laser like all my Proofs have been and is the most cost effective cut rifled options out their coming in around $400 if you shop around (I got mine for $390 delivered).

After back to back duds with Ballistic Advantage, one of which caused damage to my AEM5 suppressor, I ordered a Criterion to hopefully get my Mk 12 build back on track.

Looking forward to getting the barrel and seeing what it will do.

I have an 18" WOA SPR barreled rifle that shoots very well as well as a factory DPMS Mk 12-ish rifle that also shoots very well.

I've never gotten my Superior Barrel (from a Douglas blank) to shoot well

I've got a Criterion 6.5 Creedmoor that shoots wonderfully. I've done a 10 shot MOA group with it.

My 18" DPMS SPR barrel does pretty well. It's on the MOA all day page.

I tend to run Criterion barrels. They have all shot less than MOA for me and tend to be one of the best values in my opinion.

I shot a 198/200 at 600 yds with a Criterion last year at Quantico. That is good enough to keep me a customer.

All have been sub moa that I’ve shot. The Rock Creek is pending.

223 wylde
Rainier Match
Rainier Ultramatch’s
Rainier Rock Creek (not tested yet)

224 Valkyrie
WOA
Rainier Ultramatch

6.5creedmoor
Ballistic Advantage
Falkor (Dracos)

A WOA barrel should serve you well. I’m a big fan of Rainier though. I’ve yet to get one that wasn’t sub moa with several types of ammo. My latest match barrel (bought for sub 170$) went .71moa over 25rds with IMI 77gr. With hand loads, it should do much better.

Does anyone make a 20" polygonal rifled barrel for an AR? I searched LW's whole website and the only 20" barrels they make in .223 wyld aren't polygonal, 18" is the longest they show that is.

I have an Odin Works 18" .223 Wylde barrel with an intermediate gas system that I plan on trying out. Got it for a great deal from a shop that closed a couple years back, so hopefully it performs well. I will eventually handload for it, but will first start out with some factory "match" loads to see how it does.

Black hole weaponry does. Any lenght and contour.

I have 6 of them, in everything from 5.56, 6.8SPC and 6.5Creed, easily sub moa on even the lightest profile 6.8 I have.

Rainier Arms Ultramatch  It is becoming increasingly more clear with only 50 rounds down this tube, that I am the limiting factor regards precision with this barrel!  Being a novice at this it is easy to see how one could really get deep in the rabbit hole.

My Mod H and Recce clones both have ballistic advantage barrels; both shoot sub MOA to MOA (occasionally ever so slightly larger but typically at or below) with 77s over Tac.

My Mk12 Mod 1 uses a white oak barrel.  Haven't shot it yet but it's ready to go.

Varmint build also is white oak and DRILLS 52's like whoa.

+1 for the Ultramatch barrel. I have around 300 rounds through mine; best group so far is .510 MOA (five shots), and that was with a called bad 5th shot. For a little over $300 it's a helluva barrel.

Another rainier ultramatch fan here. I have a 16” 223 Wylde heavy profile intermediate gas one that is consistently shooting .5 moa with 69grain match ammo. I just bought another 18” non fluted spr barrel from them for an spr project and hope to see the same results.
