Got Damn is that a lot of drop

Vortex Viper PST 6-24 only has ~7 mils of travel after zero.
Supposedly a 30 MOA base
I was holding damn near in the bottom stadia to make hits on a 8x8 steel
Went out with some Stingers, which shoot well in mine, Federal GMM, RWS target and RWS match

Anyone know the velocity they drop down to at that distance?
Specifically the GMM

There are many variables to be factored, including but not limited  weather altitude, your barrel length etc..
Below is an estimate based on the info I put in for Fed GMM on Strelok.
If your velocity is accurate @ 1200 FPS out of the barrel, - with no wind you are looking at about 681fps @ 450 yards.
The energy starts around 128 and drops to about 41 at 450 yards.
It takes 1.59 seconds to get to the target and the drop is about 363" ( 30' 3")
Strelok has a free app that works well that should be able to help you with any info you are looking for.

I doubt that is a 30 MOA base if you have 7 mils of travel. My PST 6-24 on a 20 MOA base had about 14.4 mils. I used it on a 400 yard target and had to hold about another 7 mils in the reticle.

You can get pretty accurate velocity data by truing your bullet.

Zero at whatever range, I use 25Y, then shoot at a longer range and enter whatever your drop actually was. You can true at 100 but I get more accurate results at 200+

In shooter app you can true at multiple distances and I true at 100,200 and about 260

Your app results will be spot on if you do this

Great info. Strelok Pro has a good setting for this.

I can take my CZ457 to 405 yards.  15 mil dialed in turret (maxed out) and 6 mil hold in reticle.

That's as far as I've tried with it.  Pretty much out of elevation.

I've been shooting my CZ from 50 to 300 yds, and trued it at 100, 200 and 300.
Using Eley Standard I showed a BC of .180.
With that I would need 81 moa or 23.6 Mils to get to 460yds with a 50 yd zero.

Sounds like fun.
