Does anybody have one of these on this particular platform? Don't know if I need the mid length or the longer version?

Seems like an awfully expensive replacement for hanging a baseball cap off your scope turret.

No, but if you're patient, you can get the Caldwell picatinny brass catcher for $20.

Amazon Product
  • SPECS: Holds 100 rounds of .223 brass
  • EASE OF USE: Zipper at the bottom of the mesh bag makes emptying simple and the brass catcher quickly separates from the Pic Rail for easy cleaning and inspection
  • DURABLE: Heat resistant mesh will not melt during use and the internal wire frame maintains the bag's shape even when it is full of brass

I have a TBR, and it works very well on my M5 setup.

You're running right on the ragged edge of the standard model fully fitting the ejector port with an M5E1 upper; you'll have to run it on the closest possible pic rail section.

Don't listen to these others; it's in a whole different league than the caldwell....like lightyears more robust/durable.

So I've got their Gen 2 handguard and it's Mlok. So there's about 9" before I can attach it to a rail slot. Are you running a quad rail?

Caldwell is made for shooting from a bench at a square range. I’ve seen the TBR work well in competitions. Haven’t used one myself so I can’t really help with sizing.

I'm running a Gen2 Keymod Aero rail.

I'll grab a pic whenever I get home.

Awesome, I'm trying to keep from buying their long brass catcher, so if you have one that works, that'd be great to see it

Here ya go. It's a close fit, but it catches my brass without issue on the M5E1; the edge of the catcher is right up against the shell deflector.

I have both the Caldwell Picatinny rail and strap-on brass catchers to accommodate various rifles. Both work very well and are reasonably-priced.

Ok badass, I was looking at the one that swivels out of the way. Which model is that one again?

That's a tougher question to answer. I ordered mine about ~2 years ago, and like you wanted the one that swiveled out of the way; in fact it's what I ordered. That said, I received this one. I was initially planning to send it back, but ended up giving this one a shot and it worked perfectly, so I figured screw it.

Looking on their site now, I *looks* like this is the one I have:
https://www.tacticalbrassrecovery.com/ar-platform-short-frame-throw-lever-mount-brass-catcher/

If this is going to be dedicated to a .308, I'd probably order their model that's specific to the larger frame rifles (if only to center the bag around the ejection port). That said, if you want one for both 10 & 15, mine works for me without issue.
