Because of the low cost of these rifles there are quite a few of them in use.

I have a Compass in .300WM

It shoots quite well. Well enough for me to consider some upgrades to it.

So, what are some upgrades that you have made to your Compass, in any caliber?

Thanks for the help!

Might go with a boyds stock or work with the factory. And tune the trigger or replace it.

Is Boyd's the only one making stocks?

Are there replacement triggers available?

There are trigger kits.  YouTube has reviews of the spring kits.

There are replacement scope bases from EGW.

Boyds is the only stock I know of for the Compass.

There is also a larger bolt handle on the market now:

Looks like they have options to choose from.

@CKyleC

Any range report on the new Compass?

So far it likes Vital-Shock the best. I haven't shot it a whole lot

I'm in the same situation.  Ordered a Compass in 204 Ruger and have a shortlist of upgrades/parts on order.  Only aftermarket stock I could find is from Boyd.  Asked them if they planned to inlet the AT One for the Compass and they said no.  So I think I'm going to go with the Pro Varmint, add a Kydex cheekriser and Marine Tex the grip and forearm areas.

  • M Carbo Trigger Spring Kit $19.95
  • EGW 20-MOA Scope Base $39.99

  • I already handload for 204 Ruger so I'm going to load develop for it and get the best accuracy as possible. Let's just see what it can do.

This is highly relevant to my interests.  Who makes replacement TC Compass triggers?  Are they the same as Winchester M70 triggers like you can get form Timney?

Trigger design is quite similar to M70.

No need for a replacement trigger though.  Just buy the spring kit above.  Or check YouTube for modding the stock trigger.

The guns were available for $197 for a while.  People aren't willing to spend $120 - $150 for an aftermarket replacement trigger for a $200 rifle.

    Bumping this up.

I'm about to put my "Christma List" together and it's going to include a few items for the Compass.

Which Boyd's stock are y'all putting on the Compass?

The At-One Thumbhole looks great and is only $199.

Would double the cost of my rifle, but would be a significant upgrade!

The spring kits are great. I have one in my 300wm and 6.5cm.

If I could find a larger magazine I thought about shooting a match with one just for the lulz.

I turned one out of a piece of aluminum that just slips over the stock one and locks down with a set screw.

I posted this in a GD thread earlier today, but it works just as well here.

Stock options are limited -- Boyd's only (to my knowledge) -- at this point. I did however have a fairly long talk with an MDT sales rep during last weekend's NRA AM show. They're working up a TC Compass inlet for their Oryx chassis as we speak and expect to release within the next 2-3 months.

Personally I'm intrigued by this even though the stock will cost about 2x what I paid for the rifle. In large part because it will take MDT mags which means no more sucky rotary mags. #winning!

At some point you've got to acknowledge you're trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, but if you're a budget/value driven shooter you could certainly do worse.

I've done the MCarbo trigger spring; as well as the EGW pic rail for mine.
    Both useful and cost effective...
