Whats recommended? Which will have the least effect on the accuracy of the barrel. I'm Eyeballing the Seekings Nest.

That being said the YHM Phantom for mid range cost or Griffin Micro 3 Prong for higher cost, shorter profile

I use the BE Meyers 249 ASR flash hider on my SPR so I can mount my Specwar 556.

A2.

Or A1 if the closed bottom bugs you.

The closed bottom of the A2 does bother me. I have a YHM Phantom on a carbine and like it very much the others i will take a look at. No love for the seekins?

I am partial to the AAC Blackout (non-mount) flash suppressor. I have it on several rifles and it is great.

I had bad results with a YHM Phantom flash suppressor on a Bushmaster 20" HBAR.  It opened groups up to 2" at 25 yards.  Replaced it with a Blackout and groups tightened to under half an inch at 25 yards.

I just put a forward control design 6315 on a rifle. I like it so far. It is similar to an A2 with about 25 percent better compensation and just as good flash reduction. Very functional for what I wanted. It is more than a flash hider see $50 but cheaper than a lot of other devices

Off to check that one out sounds like it could be the best of both worlds

I have Patriot Valley Arms brakes on both my 5.56 XCR and 6.5 Creedmoor AR. Great value, easy to install and remove, and they're great at keeping the rifle from moving much.

the one that fits your suppressor - of course

Like to mix things up, I use PWS Triad, PWS MOD 2 FSC30, Manticore Arms Eclipse, VLTOR VC-301, VG6 Eplison and lastly the A2. Happy with all. And I think the Eclipse performs the best with flash reduction.

Costly, but I’m overly impressed with KAC muzzle devices. The MAMS brake does an excellent job at reducing recoil and seems to have a little less noise blast than most brakes.

OP asked for 'flash hider' and not 'brake' or 'compensator' so I would say the good old A2/A1 design works fine and wouldn't affect accuracy.  One way to tell for sure, shoot it without the muzzle treatment and with the flash hider then compare. I bet you might see POI change but not accuracy change.

That is something I had not heard about. Will have to swap these out if someone else can corroborate another example of this.

I'd be interested to know what the "bad" muzzle device was torqued to.

Johnny's Reloading Bench on YouTube did a decent series on "barrel harmonic testing" and it seemed like muzzle device weight had a lot of influence on where the nodes exist for a particular load. I would not be surprised if "good" flash hiders from an accuracy standpoint are entirely rifle/load dependent.

Vortex. I went this route after a bit of research, the ports being in line with each other supposedly helps with accuracy. I recall seeing a test or two to that effect. No idea if it’s been proven scientifically beyond that, I also recal they had the best flash reduction in a few different tests.

Late to the thread, but this KAC M4QD flash hider on my precision Recce clocks with its own included shim kit to keep torque under control.  It has no discernable negative effect on accuracy and is equivalent to a standard A2 in signature mitigation.  It is designed to mount KAC's NT-4 suppressor.

I have started using Surefires for two reasons. I haven't seen a drop in accuracy on my Semi-Autos and sometimes, every once in a while, an SOT will be at a class I'm taking and they always roll with Surefires, for whatever reason. I usually get to play with their gear.

Knight’s claims testing showed their three tine flash hider had less negative effect on accuracy than their previous 5 slot design. JackL posted that the 3 tine model didn’t suppress muzzle flash quite as much but the trade off to gain accuracy was worth it.
Each of their tines has a different mass which (to my ear) eliminates the ringing accociated with the 3 tine design.
