Curious what everyone is using for a shooting mat, if anything at all. I was looking on Amazon and they ha e the primary arms for 50 but no pics of it unrolled. The midway model is 25 but is polyester and rolled out looks like it is plastic on the top side.

The one from Midway is very nice.

Midway has a few different levels and they are nice. I use an old Creedmoor Sports model I got years back. Works ok for some range work. I don't carry one for matches.

I have the Midway USA and the Midway USA not cheap. Both work, but I really prefer, and exclusively use the nicer one. Wait for them to go on sale.

Yup, the nice midway mat is pretty nice. It's hard to tell in the photo, but it has knee and elbow pads or whatever you want to call them, and grommets in the corners to stake it down.

I use the Triad tactical matt...it is in between the non padded cheap ones and the heavy large padded ones that aren't gonna get packed on a hunting trip...
Attached File rolled up on the left.... Attached File worth every penny... https://www.triadtactical.com/Triad-Padded-Shooting-Mat.html |

When I use a mat, THIS is the Midway mat I use. The entire mat is padded except for the "apron" at the muzzle end of the mat in the photo below. If you think you would like to buy this mat, wait for a sale... I didn't pay retail (paid $30 12/15/2016) and I don't recommend anyone else does either...
At the range I usually shoot at, the shooting positions @ 100 yards and 200 yards are covered with small white landscape gravel. Kneeling, lying, or resting on your elbows on that stuff is downright painful... but it's no problem with that mat... VERY comfortable. The mat rolls up easily, has a carry handle as well as a shoulder strap, and is reasonably light... |

I have always used the Dillon mat. If there was a thicker one I would use that.

Creedmoor Sports
Buy once...cry once... Mine is going on over 20 plus years now and still going strong... Has enough cushion to really support you elbows, water proof bottom that is easily cleaned, and I can fold up my shooting jacket when doing the service rifle game and carry it... Never regretted buying one... |

The one I got from Cabela’s is really nice and they’re right around the corner from work.

Pro tip: Get a mat made for Highpower competition. They are durable (have to be to hold up to heavy use), not oversized, and lightweight. Trust me. If you buy one of the giant overpadded mattresses sold to first-time buyers you’ll get tired of dragging it around and storing it.
Great quality, not too big, not overstuffed, durable mats are available from: Champion Shooters Supply (I use their “Champion Shooting Mat”, not the winged delux one) Creedmoor Champion’s Choice |

I have one of These from Tab Gear.
i like it because it's small, light and can be easily packed into places. While it is water resistant it is not very well padded so I also have one of These from Voodoo tactical. Its slightly larger rolled up but is very padded, one of my sons uses it as a sleeping mat when camping with the scouts |

Will not shelter in place

two sheets of nylon sewn over carpet padding

I have the biggest Midway mat, it’s great.

I use my usmc iso mat. Usually put another one overlapping it slightly to get some width.
