H 140 ELD CCI BR-2 Prime once fired brass RL16 2.900" OAL Here is my ladder 40.0g - 2520 40.4g - 2531 40.6g - 2553 40.8g - 2549 41.0g - 2578 41.2g - 2585 41.4g - 2589 41.6g - 2616 41.8g - 2634 42.0g - 2633 42.2g - 2648 42.4g - 2655 42.0 doesn't look too bad. I would like to move up to 43.0 see whats there. 2650 would be a nice place to land with the 20" barrel. |

I'd try a little higher. I am at 43.2 with H4350 in a 20".

Any pressure signs yet? You've got a couple spots that would be worth some investigating, but if there aren't any pressure signs just yet, you might could go a little higher

No pressure signs. In fact primers look flatter on the Prime ammo though I don’t know the exact components.
I’ve loaded up more loads from 42.0 to 43.6. Hopefully I’ll get to shoot tomorrow. |

More data from today. I did a ladder from 42.0g RL16 to 43.6g RL16. Even at 43.6 primers were not as flat as the prime ammo, but I don't know the components they use.
The 42.0 - 42.4 did match last range session but different conditions for my optical chronograph. Overcast with rain last time, sunny and warm today. H 140 ELD 2.900" COAL RL16 CCI BR-2 Primer Prime once fired cases 42.0g - 2626 42.2g - 2636 42.4g - 2644 42.6g - 2686 42.8g - 2692 43.0g - 2675 43.2g - 2701 43.4g - 2733 43.6g - 2742 So what does the hive think? Here is the group. Attached File I also loaded some 140 H BTHP (NOT ELD) at 42g RL16 to see what happened. I pulled one shot but not a bad group at 100. 2645 2616 2612 2621 2628 2623 2600 2586 2615 2614 2616 Average 15.7 Stdev Attached File Once again Prime did not do very well. Velocities were the same as last range session (see post in my prime ammo thread) but accuracy was not good. This was me trying. 42.0g - 2626
42.2g - 2636 42.4g - 2644 I'd load up 20 at 42.2gr and see what they do in a couple of 100yd 5rd groups and then take the rest to distance. ETA: and get all 20 over the chrono to see what the load will do from an ES/SD standpoint with a statistically significant sample size. |

Would suck to think you've got a good node, just to watch it evaporate when the temp swings a bit and you realize it was only .2gr wide. Best of luck either way and keep us posted |

Conditions were not ideal today for shooting. I thought it would be overcast but it turned into partly sunny. I get the best results from my chronograph on overcast days like the last few. Anyway, still profitable.

LADDER 43.0-43.8 I re-ran the ladder from 43.0 grains and extended to 43.8. 43.0g - 2723 43.2g - 2705 43.4g - 2741 43.6g - 2744 43.8g - 2760 Although I didn't see any pressure signs I think 43.8 is far enough. I think I’ll at least do a Hi/Low test with statistically significant sample. Maybe some in a cooler with ice and some in the June sun. That ought get around 100 degree separation. Results inbound... maybe this weekend. Edited to add Ohio weather sucks. |

Edited to say with the ELD jammed into the lands is Between 2.980 and 2.990. |

I loaded up some rounds with a different lot of reloader 16 than above.
43.6g RL16 2.900" OAL BR-2 Primer.140 ELDm Prime once fired. 2717 vs. the previous reported above. That’s a good bit slower. I edited this and removed previous comments becaus those rounds were from same lot. Different bottle bought at different time but same lot. |

I needed a few more rounds for the last match of the year this week. I had a couple hundred Hornday 140 BTHP and primers but no powder.
I got some H4350 Did a one day load development. Tikka 20" barrel Prime 2x fired brass CCI BR-2 Hornady 140 BTHP 2.845 OAL Here is the ladder. Really more to check the pressure since I was going to have to go with one of the 4 pre-loaded loads I brought with me in interest of time. 41.0 - 2677 41.5 - 2644 41.8 - 2644* think this was a failure to read 42.0 - 2663 42.3 - 2694 42.6 - 2718 42.8 - 2708 43.0 - 2726 43.2 - 2688* this was weird 43.4 - 2750 43.6 - 2780 43.8 - 2799 * AWESOME * 44.0 - 2788 I'm going to go with 42.5 for the match just because I have a zero for it and it was the most accurate of the 4 loads I brought. BUT... I'm going to experiment around 43.8 with ELDM's for next season. Would be great to get close to 2800. |

Edited to say I’d like to go today and get a better zero and more data but probably won’t. Chances are I won’t even shoot these rounds I have 75 of the regular load left and that’s about what I average. |
