Ok guys,

I am getting into reloading for 6.5 Creedmoor. Decided to get into a new caliber at the wrong time, but oh well.
I have Starline SRP brass.
120 SMK
120 Barnes TAC-TX
I can probably get something in the 140 range, but from I can find so far is, the powders I have are good for the lighter projectiles.
The powders I have are:
Shooters World Precision
IMR4064
Varget
AR-Comp
Does anyone have any load data I can start with for these powders? I have seen Varget being used, was going to do a ladder test with that one.

Is anyone getting decent results with IMR 4895?  Hodgdon lists some loads for it.

Can't find any powders anywhere. At least nothing that is good for Creedmoor. Hence why I listed what I have available now.
Will try a ladder test with Varget and Shooters World Precision and see what I can get.

I've been shooting 140gr ELD-M over 35.8gr IMR 4064 for awhile now.  I tried it when H4350 was impossible to find, and now it's my go-to load out to about 600 yards.

I don't know how it'll work with 120s, but the 4064 with 140s seems to be more consistent than anything I've been able to produce with H4350...which kinda sucks because I'm down to my last 3 lbs of 4064 and scrounged up 12 lbs of 4350

Varget in the low 40 gr range for 120 class. Work up to it.

Lots of people seem to be using H4350 and Reloader 16.

H4350 has been great with 140g for me. I haven't been able to source R16 since I have been looking.

I tried Varget with some 129s and it shot well.

H4895 and Varget work well with 123 grain bullets. H4350 and RE-16 for 140's.

accureshooter.com has a great forum and you will learn a lot there.

I use H4350 for everything 6.5 Creedmoor.

Varget will work but it is a little too fast for the heavy 6.5 mm bullets.

H4350 is the place to start.  Others like H4350 are IMR4350, A-4350, RL-17, Ramshot Hunter, N-550, Power Pro 3000-LR,... there are others that will work well, too.

Everyone always says H4350. But it's unobtainable right now. I'm going try IMR 4831, and try to find R17, R16 oand N555. But I have my doubts of being able to find any of those too.

Always thought it was odd there are 3 different manufacturers making their own versions of  “4350.”

Here is a video comparing 2 of the 3:

6.5 Creedmoor - H4350 vs IMR4350 - 143 ELD-X

Similar; not the same.

Take a second look at that 4064.  You won't be getting top velocity, but some of the most accuracy and consistent velocity data I ever made, was with warm charges of 4064.  For those lighter bullets, try it.

For me, performance correlated to power level, with a linear improvement in performance in direct correlation to charge.  So focus on the hot-end with it.

How is the testing coming along?

Quick update.
Shooters World Precision seems to be better (FOR ME) than Varget and IMR4064. I am shooting the 123GR SMK. Had an issue with my Chrono and was unable to get data. (SUCKS), but the accuracy seemed to be there. Going to be trying the 123GR ELD-M next.
One thing I did notice. I was using Hornady brass with LRP. Did my testing. Took another batch to confirm a good group and decided to load up some starline brass with SRP exactly the same. Don't know if it was me or not, but the SRP load actually had a better group! Hopefully it was just a fluke. I don't want to buy more brass.
Packed all my reloading gear up and moving from Louisiana to Dallas next week, so probably be a month before I can get back to it.
Same Shooters World works great in my 308. I was lucky and found a 8lb jug of it.

Probably slow down with the testing though. start doing 3 shot groups instead of 5. Need to start saving primers.

SW Precision is an excellent alternate to Varget, some say better.

H4350 is dropping at powder valley and elsewhere almost every week, I bought all I just got some more for some friends the other day who had no luck elsewhere. It’s there is you look. R16, IMR4451, and StaBall 6.5 are also in stock on regular basis it just sells out fast so you gotta be quick.

There is enough solid data that I would be fine buying a couple jugs of any of these powders if I saw them available.

Yeah, MidwayUSA had some 8lb jugs of the 4350, but I couldn't get it. Honestly I have plenty of Shooters World Precision, Varget and IMR4064 to play with for a while. Will run out of primers WAAAAY before powder anyway.
I am shooting 123gr SMK, which I believe is better with the Shooters World Precision anyway.

I used Superformance for developing a load with the 140 ELD-M and I cannot see any accuracy differences between it and H4350.  Easily made velocity without pressure signs.

I switched to H4350 because everyone said it was THE powder for 6.5CM but both were doing 0.4MOA easily.

At work right now but I'll update with load data when I get home.

When I had a 6.5 creedmoor, couldn’t find 4350. RL 17 was listed as a powder to try. Found out this worked just as good. BUT, it’s a little temp sensitive to work up your loads in the summer. Got rid of the creedmoor but use this powder for 200 gr bullets in 308 with great success..

I think they claim H4350 is THE powder because it is the least sensitive to temperature change.

That’s a big factor for the PRS long range crowd.  They have to show up on match day no matter how hot/cold that day is.

If match day is not the EXACT temp as the day you sighted in, the POI is going to vary, and on the 1000 yard stages, you will miss.  Plus, shooting is on the clock.  You don’t get extra time for sighters.

120-130gr class: Varget, SWP
135-140gr class: H4350, IMR4350, AA4350, RL-16, RL-17
145-155gr class: RL-26, H4831sc, RL-23

eta: Varget, H4350, H4831sc, RL-16, and RL-26 are all pretty temp stable.  The others aren't bad, though.  I don't have temp data on SWP but have briefly experimented with it and found it to be a solid Varget substitute.

It's slow, but the best group I ever shot in my life was 34gr of Varget with a 140 ELD-M.  20 shots into 0.6" at 100yd.
