In 300wm.
Need glass and mount, unless I tactically aquire that from one of my other rifles, so open to opinions. I like having a heavy hitting magnum, and 30 Cal API bullets don't shoot themselves  .My previous 300wm was a Remington 770  . I will be reloading for it, already setup. |

If you are shooting at paper, you probably want something in the 5-25X range. Two I have are the Vortex PST and HST, both on 300wm If you are hunting, the HST is much lighter and is just as good. The PST is FFP, HST SFP. I like them both. If you are primarily hunting, I would stick to the 3-15X range. What I have on my primary hunting rifle and have made several confident shots at 850+Y.
If you want to go all out, I would highly recommend the Leopold Mark V illuminated. 34MM scope and is really nice. |

Depending on your eyesight quality, the 4-16x50 range would be more that adequate. I’ve got an older Bausch & Lomb 4-16x50 (Bushnell) Elite 4200 and an older Zeiss Conquest which is 4.5-14x50 and they work well for that distance. Chris |

I have some astigmatism in my right eye. So either I need glasses (longer eye relief) or ?

Enough eye relief to have room for my glasses and recoil.
Learned that lesson the hard way with the 300 RUM I had  (What my eye looked like). |

I have astigmatism in my right eye and have shot magnums in matches for years. Never hit my eye. |

I was looking at getting one of these but held off after hearing of these issues. |

I saw one yt vid where he took the bolt apart and got it the OEM oil out and it extracted fine. Push come to shove with feeding, I'll design my own mag and/or follower. |
