I'm piecing together a HEAVY, pure precision build that is going to be for PRS (bagged benchrest) gas gun division.  Looking at most of the available options for scope mounts, it seems they're swiss cheesed to cut weight.  I'm not concerned with weight and want the most rigid reliable mount I can find.

What's good?  Vortex Razor AMG 6-24x50mm scope.

TIA.

Bingo.  Spuhr has the right stuff and cred.

Here is what top PRS competition shooters use, and its Spuhr's Ideal Mount, and not by just a little.

The Geissele and Spuhr mounts are both great (I prefer the Geissele). Unfortunately, right know a lot of those mounts are very hard the find. I’m trying out a mount from F3R on one of my precision guns right now and have been very pleased. You might want to check them out.

I have had very good success with Badger and Geissele....

Not sure if they make a mount, but my Seekins rings are as well made as anything

Might check out audere mounts.

Similar in design philosophy to Spuhr but a bit less.

Mk Machining has some and I was impressed with them. I ended up with rings instead of a one piece.

Large frame or small?

You may be able to get away with a non-cantilever if large frame.

Small frame.  I ended up getting a Spuhr and it's working out pretty well.  Just started load development last week.  I'll probably play around with it some tomorrow.  Looking promising so far, though.

Thanks again everyone for all of the suggestions!
