Could go the case in a case route,

But one case is enough.

I cut the foam with an electric knife, but perhaps it's best if we leave some things unseen. I'm the reason they stopped letting engineers manually draw things...

Also, I can't find a pick of the current state and am watching kids right now.

Where did you get it professionally cut? Can you hook a fellow up with a website or something?

I will look it up when I get home tonight.  I'll get you their contact info.

Update:  The foam came from Pelicandealer.com.  They sell cases also, they offer different levels of service for the custom foam.  I.E.: Design time, layout modifications/suggestions.  I had the case already in my situation.  They were really easy to work with.  I'm getting ready to have them do a 1750 case for me.

Many thanks for the follow up!
Always wanted a custom fitted case but never had the stones to go at the foam with a razor or electric knife. Looks like my new RPR will be the first one to get its own designated case.

You're welcome.  I did it for the same reason.  I did try it with the foam that came with the case and didn't like it at all.

SKB I-Series case. I have had it a few years now and its been rock solid and holds my SR-25 securely even with my lackluster foam cutting job.

I guess I'll keep this thread alive. I did my new case a few days ago.

Pelican V800

I cut 3 places for bolt-action magazines as I plan on buying a couple more (hopefully tomorrow) and keeping them in there (I bought the rifle used and it came with only 1 magazine). And I might add one more AR mag in there, too; I haven't decided.

I started cutting with a small retractable knife, but then I remembered I have an old electric knife. It was so much easier and quicker. Some of the smaller curves I had to do with the retractable knife as they were just too tight for the electric knife. But I got it done. It's not perfect, but it works. It weighs a damn ton, but it's got wheels to make it a bit easier to transport by hand.
