Alright team..

I have a LMT MWS CL 16" that I'm looking to glass. I will probably be at 400yds most of the time but would like the ability to get out to 8-1K if the opportunity presents itself. I'd like to be able to reach out and touch 10" plates out to a K.

Eventually i would like to get the 18" SS Barrel as well. As I understand it I can expect about an MOA out of my factory 16" CL and a little better with the 18" SS. Primary ammo will be LC 118 and LC 852
I've pretty much narrowed it down to 2 Leopold's.. I can buy them at .MIL prices and would like to keep the complete setup to around 1K. If there are any other recommendations I'd be happy to listen.

MK4 MR/T 1.5-5 M2 SPR or CM-R2
110180/67905
Attachment Attached File

Id probably mount either in a MK4 IMS "Flat"

//OR//

MK4 3.5-10X40 M3 TMR in a MK4 20MOA Base
51850
Attachment Attached File

Thoughts from the Hive? Yes I am aware that this thing is and will continue to be a PIG with either setup!

Why areyou considering the 5x if you want to shoot out to 1k now and then?

FPNI.

The M3LR is going to give you much more versatility 300 and farther.  If you're shooting 400 and under do you need a 7.62?  Are you hunting?

Neither of those options would be my choice.  Much better options on the market today.  Always buy used if you can.

I'd want something with 15x or more on the top end.

Steiner T5Xi 3-15 or 5-25
Burris XTR II 3-15
Athlon Cronus
Bushnell DMR  or DMR II
Vortex PST II 3-15

If you are wanting to go with a LPV my suggestions are:

Primary Arms Platinum 1-8
Trijicon 1-8
Burris XTR II 1-8

All of these options have a 34mm tube except the Vortex with has a 30mm tube.

I didn’t realize NF had .mil pricing
I was aware of Leopold  and Vortex but not NF

Any idea on a POC? Is pricing similar to vortex/Leopold ?

You'll have to set up the account directly through them. Their site asks you to email, but I had better luck calling.

I'd  you don't want to go full NSX, the SHV line is supposed to he very good.  I would look at the scopes ranging from 3x to 15-18x

I am not a PRS shooter, or high speed, but I would strongly suggest you look at scopes with open center or center dot reticles. You'll thank me on those 1000 yard days.

The Vortex PST Gen II is a very nice option under 1K.  I have one on another rifle, solid scope.

Sightron makes a nice optic for a really decent price, well as far as optics go.
I love my SIII 8-32x56 on my Tikka.
But the Athlon Midas on my 6.5 is really pretty nice as well. YMMW.
There as too many choices, but they are not all good ones, even when you spend
over $800 ..Go an look through a bunch before you buy.

So what did you end up going with? I put a Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x32 Riflescope on mine and love it.

Will start with the fact that the MWS is one of the finest rifles available, the LMT lineup period is great....as you can tell I am a LMT fan.

I had moved different scopes around on my MWS, had an ACOG TaA11 for a little more ER with the .308 recoil.  When went to an ELCAN and ended up with a USO SN3 TPAL.

This set up is heavy, very heavy, but with a 1.8-10, does give you the flexibility to shoot out to the .308 ballistic capabilities.

I made a terrible error, sold the rifle, to a friend, so I can get it back, and the USO is now sitting on my .308 tactical bolt action.

If I were to get the rifle back, and to try to lighten the weight, I would look at one of the NF scopes...

Not sure if I answered the question, but this has been my experience
