Because complete LaRue 6.5CM uppers are now $2k... I'm rolling my own.
I'd really have preferred a LaRue upper/handguard combo, but I don't think they sell them. Here is my current plan, comments/critique welcome.... 308 Large frame Stag upper receiver (I'd prefer the MEGA Maten, but I heard it's not a great fit on a LaRue lower) Superlative Arms adjustable gas block JP Low mass 308 BCG with high pressure bolt Raptor LT charging handle ZEV large frame wedge lock 16-5/8" MLOK handguard 22" 6.5CM barrel +2" gas from Compass Lake (Bart/Krieger) or Proof -ZA |

Large frame ARs are not like AR15s with easily interchangeable uppers and lowers. You really should buy an upper/lower set and then build. If not you might have a hard time finding a lower that will run with your upper.

I used a Stag stripped upper to start with for a 6.5cm upper. It went on my SR25 lower. Had to drill the takedown pin holes in the upper just slightly and then it all went togetehr fine.
