In a nutshell, I'm looking for a decent scope that will help me reach 1000 yards. The rifle is a Remington 700 police model, 24" heavy barrel, 5R rifling with a 1/10 twist and will sometimes wear a AAC 7.62 SDN 6 suppressor. The base is a Badger Ordnance with 20 MOA. Average shots will be between 300 to 600 yards but I wan't her to be able to reach out to 1000 with accuracy. I'm looking to spend roughly $1000 to $1200 on the scope. I'm hitting the bed so I'll check back in the morning. Any suggestions would be awesome.

I have an almost identical rifle set up with a PA 4-14x. Only shot it to 700 yards, but have done it with ease. And my scope is just from their “silver” line. You could get into a “gold” for around $650 or the “platinum” for around $1400. The latter is a ton of scope for the money.

Lots of choices... especially if you look in the EE.
Super Sniper 10X Side Focus new $400 for budget glass that is great for the money. Leupold Mk IV 4.5-14x50 with or without illuminated reticle used $600- $750 depending. Vortex Viper PST Gen I 4-16x50 Illuminated reticle used $400-$450 depending. Vortex HST 4-16x44 used $350-$400 depending. I have and use all the above scopes plus others. All have come off the EE and were in like new condition and some came with a mount. I paid about $750-$725 for the last few Leupold MK IV's and about $400 for the Viper PST's. Great deals can be had on the EE. |

You’re only a few hundred from a razor 4.5-27. On a bolt gun the glass is as important as the gun itself so don’t cut corners here

Yup if you can get to $1200 get to a little more and you won;t have to worry about upgrading. Look at these.

New Leupold MK4 for $1K
I have 3 of the MK4 LRT 6.5-20X , they have been great scopes out to 1,000 yds. Also take a look at the Sightron SIII series, you get a lot of bang for the buck with those IMO. Look in the clearance sections of all the major online stores, you can find some great deals there, especially if you are willing to go with an MOA or Milrad scope. |
|
|
[#13]
Sightron SIII 10x fixed power scopes can be purchased on sale for around $450.
Sightron 8x32 SIII and 10x50 for under $1000. These scopes are the most economical that are still considered good enough for long range tournament use. www.accurateshooter.com has full reviews on lots of scopes. |

Burris 5x20x50mm scopes are on sale right now, normally $850, on sale for $350 ($500 discount) at OpticsPlanet.
I bought one simply to try it. Mil-Dot reticle and .5 moa adjustments. |

For a little more money you can't go wrong with the Vortex Razor (3-18x50). Glass is super clear and you can't beat their lifetime warranties. Honestly, their PST line is fantastic too!

Agreed with other responses, buy used on the EE and make your money go further. There was a guy selling a Vortex Gen II Razor 3-18 for Around or under $1500. You can find Gen I razors for $1000-1200 used if you look. I havent found better glass in the price range than the Gen II razors. Plus they hold value fairly well if you buy used and your likely will NEVER upgrade it.
Also, great rifle by the way, i just picked on up for a half-assed HRT rifle clone build. Slapped a NF NXS 5.5-22 on it to test it. |

I have to agree, start looking on the EE. Im a big fan of Nightforce and as said if you look around a used one would be close to your price range.

Cameralandny as mentioned above or shop the demo section at Euro Optics.
$1752 Nightforce NXS 8-32X56 Just one of many options there or hit the EE every day here |

I also like the Burris XTR II scopes, I'd probably go with the 3-15x50.
