Can anyone recommend a good 22LR cartridge for a CZ 457 MTR with 16" barrel that will stay subsonic?
Eley Tenex and Contact (their subsonic round) are both going supersonic!

Most lots of TenEx are barely supersonic for me out of a 20 inch Vudoo at 6,500 feet

You shoot in the 20s and the speed of sound gets pretty close to that magic 1080 fps that ammo makers like. Calculator |

Any of the basics Lapua Center X, SK Rifle Match/Standard, Eley Edge, Match etc, most all of the match ammo is subsonic in the 1050-1100fps area. Sometimes a lot can creep up in the 1110 area but nothing to worry about. |

so my dad used to know a guy who shot competitively for the military back in like the late 80's. he ended up buying a case of tenex off the guy for something stupid cheap and didnt know it was not standard ammo. burnt most of it up plinking at clay ducks.
