[Last Edit: Thump_rrr]
Too many new things to wrap my head around.
Savage model 10 .308 Win 24" barrel.

I was going to run a ladder from 41.9 to 44.6.
My 3 fouling shots were 43,5 grains which was the midway point of my ladder so that I could zero the scope.
I had the settings wrong on the also new Labradar so those first 3 shots didn't register

Old setup was running the factory barrel with Lapua brass 175.4 grain average with 56.4 grains of water.
175 SMK
FGMM Primers
COAL 2.800"
44.1 grains of Varget
2650 FPS using my Chrony Gamma Master.

New setup IBI 24" stainless barrel New Lapua brass fire formed. 175.5 grain average with 56.3 grains of water.
178 A-Max
COAL 2.865, 2.189 CBTO
FGMM primers (same lot number)
Now using a Labradar and the same lot # of Varget
42.2 gr 2639, 2649, 2648  VO Av. 2645  ES 10, SD 5.5
42.5 gr 2669, 2636, 2645 VO Av. 2650 ES 32, SD 16.7
42.8 gr 2681, 2676, 2677 VO Av. 2678 ES 5, SD 2.7

With the velocity climbing much quicker and higher than expected I decided to stop the ladder and figure out what kind of pressure I was experiencing.

The brass shows no signs of overpressure, no extractor marks, no primer flow around the firing pin, no excessive flattening.

Thanks in advance

What is it that you hope to get from quickload?  In my experience, the information in QuickLoad is a good place to start and an interesting place to play "what if" but untimately, you have to come up with a ladder (you've done this) and shoot it while watching for signs of overpressure.  You have done that too but stopped in the middle (without pressure signs) because the MV wasn't what you expected.  I would go back and finish the rest of the ladder watching your cases carefully and collecting MV data - I think your charge range is reasonable.  But it doesn't matter what you or I or QuickLoad thinks, watch your cases and stop when you see pressure you don't like.

I have found in the past that the hottest node isn’t necessarily the most accurate.
If I am in fact skirting 2700ft/sec. I will back off 2 grains and start from there.
2600-2625ft/sec. is more than enough velocity for a 178gr projectile on a 600M square range.

Yep!  My newly developed .308 Win load is a Nosler CC 175 grain over 43.3 grains of Varget in an Alpha case with a Federal GM205M primer and a COAL of 2.79"...  in my 23" 5R barrel, the MV chronos @ 2,620 fps.  In my load development, I was looking for the second fastest node!...    I used QuickLoad to help me develop this load but the QL predictions were not exactly "spot" on.  They were close though and they got me in the right ball park but the testing got me on base!...

My first 2 5-shot groups with the newly developed load looked like this >>>
