Which do you think is a better option for range? Any recommendations?

I’m only shooting at longer distances at our shooting club/range so bags are no big inconvenience to take with and set up. And adding weight to a rifle with a bipod that I wouldn’t ever use in the field is sorta pointless.

I use a shooting stick in the woods when I’m deer hunting. I’m conscientious about how I rest a rifle on it and it gives me more flexibility about my shooting position when seated or kneeling in the field.

If I had dedicated competition guns I might go in for bipods just for consistency’s sake. But my shooting is more casual and flexible so it just doesn’t make much sense for me cost-wise to mount bipods to multiple bolt guns.

Consider learning to use a sling.  Even a Rhodesian configuration in a big help.
