Anyone know where I can find these. After many searches I can't find ANY online. Found one box at a local store a while back, but nothing since.

Any tips?

Getting mine at a local store, too.  They have a huge and diverse supply of Berger bullets including the 70 VLD.

Have not seen that bullet online either, though.

If you find yourself really hard up for them I have probably a couple hundred laying around. I don't like them, well, my gun doesn't like them as much as it likes other pills anyway.

Shoot an email to ballisticxlr at gmail if you want to work up a deal. I won't use them anyway so it's only right that someone does and funds my next box of Hornady 75gn BTHP's. ;)

Also, when I have been hard pressed to find stuff I needed.... I have been lucky to get some help from the OEMs.

If you are lucky you will get those spare ones he isn't going to use and you are covered for a while. If you are still needing more, I would risk a call or email to Berger and see if they can direct you to where they have dealers known to have ordered for stock. This has worked for me in the past.

Good Luck either way.

Did you try polishing the Seater Stem?  Are you loading compressed loads?  Are you using virgin brass or brass cleaned with liquid methods?

Swapping stems is quick and painless

Berger .224" 70 grain VLD's can be driven pretty fast, especially from longer barrels. Getting them to shoot is a challenge. Seating depth, or more importantly jump to rifling, needs to be experimented with to find what works in your rifle.

I would try Berger's 73's, they are a lot easier to tune. Try GunBroker, Creedmoor Sports, Champion's Choice, Graf's, Midsouth Shooters Supply, Brownells, Bruno's Shooters Supply, Bullet Central, Midway USA, Powder Valley, Precision Reloading,

Remove the seating stem from the die and make sure it's making contact on your bullet's ogive. If the point is your contact point you need to either drill it deeper or order a "VLD" seating stem from your die manufacturer.

To modify a seating stem to perfectly match your specific bullet you can chuck the bullet in a drill and use lapping compound to mate the contact surfaces.
