New 457, area 419 rail
So far I’ve tried vortex crossfire 6-25x50 Mueller 45x45 Currently have an athelon argos btr 10-40x56 So I’m all over the board. I do know I absolutely love sitting at my little shooting shack and getting tiny groups at 50yards. Lane is cut to 100 yard berm so I shoot to both. Don’t see shooting hundreds of yards or or dialing different distanced target like in that prs league Do NOT want a FFP scope (Even though the tract toric seems popular and I’m at my wits end and may just try it) I DO want quality glass and the ability to see bullet holes. Everything I’ve tried so far gets cloudy/hazy at full power. I like MOA Some of this may be me getting adjustments set up correctly and I’ll continue to refine scope settings. But I do think there is a jump in quality compared to what I’ve been buying and returning. I’d like the best/one and done/end all be all for .22 bench shooting. Basically eliminate bad glass from the accuracy equation Say budget is $2000ish |

The Vortex Golden Eagle 15-60x52 is worth a look. Good power range and MOA.

If you can find a Weaver T36, I think you'll find it a pretty good short range benchrest scope.
https://www.weaveroptics.com/w-riflescope-t-series.html 36x fixed mag with 1/8 MOA clicks. Get it with a fine crosshair. I've had one for nearly 20 years. Used to sit on a 22LR, but now I keep it around as a rifle testing scope. |

Sightron is a lot of bang for the buck and the SIII line is made in Japan with quality glass. Cameraland runs sales on them.

Thanks, I didn’t realize I could get into a March for 2k
The leupold, sigjtron, weaver are all contenders but I’m not sure I’m sold on a fixed power from using the mueller. My current research has me looking into trijicon tenmile and nightforce comp |

I wouldn’t get any fixed power scope in high power. Mirage will kill you. Variable is the way to go.
Where in NC are you? |

I use a Schmidt Bender 5-25x56 PMII on my CZ457. I've never had any issues at full power but with all scopes YMMV.

One more for the T-36.
I'm a poor, so my bench rimfire wears a Japan made Tasco 8-32 from the late 70s. My .223 bench bolt gun has a Muller 8-32 on it, no complaints but if I could've afforded the extra $200 I would've gone with the T-36. The one thing I would recommend no matter which way you go is to watch the size of the cross hair - very hard to shoot small groups when the crosshair is covering the entire aiming point and then some. |

Another vote for the Golden Eagle. Even at 60x it’s clear, although the exit pupil is tiny at that power. At 15x I was chasing starlings with it a couple weeks ago. MOA reticle is calculated to 40x, which I think is perfect. 1/8” clicks and controls all feel great. If I wouldn’t have purchased this, I would have considered Razor 6-36, or a Sightron 10-50x. I have scopes from fixed 4x up through this GE, and I like having lots of mag for tiny targets. |

If your goal is to shoot at 50 and 100 yards and see bullet holes, and you won’t be turning knobs, I can’t imagine you need a $2000 scope.

I am running a Vortex PST Gen II 5X25X56 currently on mine. It works great for the most part.
Just my opinion but the fine clicks of 1/8-1/10MOA is important. Same for the very fine reticle so as not to obscure the tiny target center you are trying to hit. I found that I am always shooting max magnification with Vortex so I ordered a Sightron SIII 45x45 to try out. Should be here late next week so hopefully I can put it through it's paces next weekend. With paralax down to 10yrds the scope checks the boxes for precision 50/100 rimfire. When I was looking for variable power setups the Ziess and Leupold are other mid-high range scopes that rank high up on the list. For actual paper punching at know distances I prefer SFP. For engaging steel at various ranges I prefer FFP. YMMV |
