Agree with this completely.
I researched this pretty heavy before I built my 6.5 upper 22' seems to be optimal.

18” at the absolute shortest. At least go 20-22”.

I might be getting a few kac uppers and the lengths they come in are 22,16,14.5. They do not have the option of 18inch. I was honestly leaning towards the 16inch due to maneuverability but i may have to reconsider after this thread.

Definitely 22".  My 6.5 Creedmoor gasser is a 24".
