First time here and looking to swap out a Ruger American 223 or Savage 223, looking to see if this can be done. I know most of the tools I need, but wondering if a first timer can do it and which platform I should chose.

I did my first Barrel swap on a Savage a gew years ago and now I’m hooked on doing them. A few basic tools and go and no go guages and an hour or so and you have a new gun. My go to right now is a Savage 10 action with a McGowen 16” 1/7 .223. Working on a 6.5 Creedmoor right now
