Looking to have a barrel done by Area 419. Would be a profit barrel for a Impact Precision 737R action.
Does anyone have first hand experience as to the quality level of a barrel that is chambered and pre-fitted byArea 419? One other question, Area 419 only offers a 6.5mm CM standard SAAMI chamber. Is that good enough for a PRS rifle or should I find someone that offers a match chamber option? Thanks in advance and stay safe? |

Can’t speak for the 419 barrels although I know they make excellent products but the SAAMI chamber is fine for the Creedmoor. It’s a match chamber. SAAMI just means it has the .199 freebore. Been using it since 2008 in “prs” matches. |

Area 419 has chambered over 10 barrels for me. I'm very confident in their products. A number of them have also been prefits. They have done pre fits for my action measurements, before companies like Impact had standard tolerances.

Had an area419 6creed prefit for a defiance, it shot extremely nice.

My initial instinct was A419 is GTG on everything else, why not a barrel. Then I saw they are charging more for prefits than I'd pay a top guy to barrel it.
Whidden, Southern Precision Rifles, and PVA have all been good for me. |

Hmm good to know. I never looked at the prices. I know PVA is excellent as I have a few barrels from Josh and he will be doing 2-3 more for me for a new action in a month or so. I would highly recommend PVA also.

Straightjacket Armory is another to take a look at. Cost is what it is. Some people don’t wait to wait for the top smith’s schedule. The shouldered prefit barrels are very precise if you have a quality aftermarket action. If not the Remage stuff works great as well.
I only care about the end result. Does the barrel shoot. |

My area 419 barrel came on a barreled action that I swapped around on the hide for. They are proud of them, about the same as impact barrels. Pva does do good work and they have some killer sales throughout the year if you can hold off. I picked up a 6.5prc for an origin, threaded muzzle, for 400.00 on their labor day sale last yr. |
