Took the 6mm Creedmoor out again today. Was shooting Hornady Precision Hunter with 103gr ELD-X this time around. 22" Wilson Combat Match barrel w/ rifle length gas system for those that didn't see or don't want to look for/at the other thread.
Atmospherics:
Temp, 73.2 F
62.4% H
30.08 inHg
Twenty shots average velocity 3031 fps. Was about 10 cooler than the last range trip and a little more humid. I slowed the rate of fire (more time between shots) and didn't leave any round chambered very long to try to keep ammo temps when chambered more consistent. Average ammo temp was about 6 cooler today.
Between the atmospherics, ammo temp, watching shot & chamber times, the higher velocities during the last trip out make a little more sense. Next weekend I'll take it back out and chrono some more Hornady Match with the 108grn ELD-X's and see how those turn out. Overall the rifle had no issues and hit well. No FTF's, FTE's. Brass extraction and ejection was the same, right around 4 o'clock. No changes to the gas setting or SCS weights or spring. The 6mm Creedmoor is a nice shooting round.
