Aluminum, why not polymer?

It peens a hardened cam. Couldn’t imagine what aluminum would do.

I guess they must, but I'll stick with steel for .308!

This is the JPBC-8. -1 I think it's for a small frame.

I got one coming, I'll have a report sooner or later about how it goes.

I still have the 1st gen JP, put away as a collector's item after a few thousands rds...still working fine but I could see the hard anodizing wearing off.  I was running the Whiskey Arms for 2 seasons and started to have issues with it when gun got hot on a long stage (3-gunning), too much gas bypassed the bolt gas rings due to different rate of expansion.  Friend of mine is still running his 2nd gen. JP, it is a bit more durable now since metallurgy and coating are much improved 15 years later.  Reason for me to ditch the alum carrier - I can get similar result (fast cycling and imperceptible forward motion) but much more reliable with a titanium carrier.

I have a V7 titanium carrier with a JP HP bolt in my 6.5 Creedmoor and it is badass. The only reason I'm willing to try the aluminum one is bc you can't find a titanium 308 carrier anywhere right now.

I appreciate your response, I was beginning to wonder if I would get anybody who has used one.

They're great if you want an extremely fast cycle rate in your M16. Good way to hit 1500+RPM.

I wouldn’t run an aluminum BCG for many of the same reasons I wouldn’t drive a wooden car.
