I’ve been working on a 178 A-Max load for my Mega MA-10. I’m about to try some Varget based off of hornady’s load manual.
What are some specific details about loading for a gas gun I need to be aware of? |

I have had good luck in my CMMG MK3 SASS with the 18 inch fluted barrel using Win brass fed 210 primer ,40 to 41 grains of Varget with a Hornady ELD-X . What I do is work up till I see the primer moving and start backing off a 1/4 grain till the primer looks right. This is a very accurate load in MY gas gun.

While this is specific to a M1A gas gun ( and its much different op-rod ) ... I have found it to be helpful and full of insight for all gas guns.
