That's a real bummer.
I will say it's a pleasure to shoot.
Hopefully, the case geometry will lead to some decent efficiency and more energy on target than the Creedmoor.
I'm already committed, financially.

Update:
With a full charge of H4350, my buddy is getting 2575 fps with the 162 gr ELD-M from his 18" 7mm SAW AR.
This bodes well for velocities from my 24" tube.
Strelok is showing better wind numbers and energy on target than both 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor.
Recoil should be between the 6.5 CM and 308, as in very manageable in a heavier rifle with a can, lightweight BCG and tuned gas.
Will post more updates as they arise.

Bought my buddies 7mm SAW stuff as he decided to stay with OTC cartridges.
My FIL changed his mind, too, so now I own 2 24" and 1 18" 7mm SAW AR barrels.
Looking forward to load development!

The more I look into it, the more I realize that 30 cal sucks in anything short of a winmag shooting huge bullets.

You can do 2550-2650 with 208s in a 308 using RL17. Compare that to the others.

Berger does have several new high BC 30 cals they just released as well, including both a  target hybrid 205(.631 BC) and a 208(.689 BC).. and also the new 220(.717 BC) and the 245(.807 BC)

I'm hoping to surpass 2700fps from a 24" barrel.
In bolt guns, velocities surpass 2900fps.

Good question.  It will have less velocity because the case is smaller.

The 6.5 creedmoor is a necked down 30TC, which was designed as, and succeeded with, bettering the traditional .308 Win casing. So same bullets, powder, primers, a 30TC would beat out a .308 in velocity. It just never caught on unfortunately.

No, all things being equal, the case with the higher capacity will be faster.  Cherry picking factory ammo velocities is just hair splitting.  Hodgdon and Accurate both have pretty complete data on their websites.  Useful data points like COAL in this class of cartridge.
